$13,000 for a designer dog. When 3.4 million dogs and cats are euthanized in the US each year because they don’t have a home. The rich an famous who could be a role model for adoption, just don’t get it. These are the same vain people who wear fur, but pay $13,000 for one dog. So she smiles and another few hundred dogs and cats today will die. This is going to happen regardless what the rich and famous do. But if they could use their wealth and be advocate for the many who have no voice, what a difference the world would be. I should point out there are many rich and famous who are animal advocates. PH could learn from them. But I doubt she would understand, since it all about her.
What most people don't know is that many litters will have a black cat or two. Most shelters will tell you they are the hardest cats to adopt. I have no idea why other then stupid human or myths or other crap that the human mind dreams up. I have had cat companions for over 30 years. I currently have a grand old lady of 18 and two girls that are each 2. I have also adopted my cats as it should always be the way. No body needs a designer dog or cat. Just saving one from a shelter is a ticket to heaven. Almost two years ago I lost a great little boy cat at the age of 16. He too was a black cat, the only one left in his litter 18 years ago. Even then black cats where the last to be adopted. Too this day, I have no idea why. From my own experience, every black cat I have know have always been the more social cats I have encountered. My current 3 rescues are not black cats, because, they where there to be rescued or I needed to be rescued and, well I have 3 tabby cats. But if you are thinking of adopting a cat, I would suggest a black cat mainly because there are too many and probably for all the wrong reasons. My cat Boots to this day, is sadly missed, regardless, make your life more interesting adopt any fur ball you like, but PLEASE ADOPT. For every dog or cat you adopt from a shelter, you save two lives, the one your taking home, and the dog or cat that will take its place. If you do adopt a cat, I always say adopt two (if you can). The experience of having 2 cats or 3 is like no other. They are all distinct personalities and that you get to share a lifetime with.
